Change
Change is hard.
Maybe I am stating the obvious but the past couple of weeks have been full of change for me and those important to me. We have experienced deaths, illness, kids moving home, kids moving on, birthdays, new jobs, no jobs, new leadership, new freedoms, lost youth (ok I turned 46 this week!), new fears and new opportunities.
As I have watched and participated, I know that this is a normal cycle of life. That every ending is just a beginning (check out the song Ruins by George is Jones) but there are some times when it feels like it is just too much. On those days I go to this bible verse:
Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on you own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. — Proverbs 3:5-6 (Msg)
It is then I remember that I can’t handle it all on my own. But, I can give all of my questions and fears and joys to God knowing that He will help me face whatever change comes my way.
Just a thought for these crazy days of spring.
